XXXX - The Meaning Of My Name

I’m still amazed with the coincidence of my name. If you’re interested you’ll have to do a little research and google it.

I’ll start with my first name - based on the name dictionary it means ‘the bearer of Christ.’ In Christian belief the Cross ( + or x ) symbolizes Christ that’s why some people abbreviate Christmas to X-mas. Next is my middle, it is a saint, it is also place somewhere in California 37°21′5″N, 122°6′2″W, it is also derived from the Spanish Lobo-y-Olla, meaning “wolves and pot”, LOL, no wonder I act this way. And my surname which means the number ten (10) in Spanish. Here’s the weird part I was born December 10. December was actually the tenth month in the lunar calendar until Pope Gregory put out his own version which is what we are using today. In the Roman numeral X stands for the number 10. The Begining and The End. The Alpha and Omega. I am a matter and an anti-matter. Intriguing right, or it’s just another one of my whimsical idea. Therefore, I am just a Concept. Ahaha, LOL, I’m delusional all of the sudden. Oh well go figure for yourself.

A Penguin Name Linux

I just finished installing the Linux operating system on my PC and I think I’m getting the hang of it. I’m starting to appreciate it. I use to hate it because the graphic interface is not appealing to me and you need to learn the Command lines. It’s like your still using DOS even if it’s GUI based you still need to run or install an application using a terminal console using the command lines. I’m using Fedora 6 Linux and there were lots of improvement with regards to GUI. It also have an Add/Remove Package Manager, similar to Windows Add Remove Program/Component. Setting up the network and file system is more easier to configure than it’s previous versions. I’m liking it little by little.

I was forced to learn Linux because of the project were doing. I was assigned to install and configure a CVS server but I know nothing much about Linux environent. And really hated the command lines. But I need to learn it for my job.Anyway, I made the CVS server run but I had trouble with the authentication at least I’m going somewhere. It was a challenging and learning experience for me so right now I’m kinda enjoy learning and mastering Linux System administration.

Linux is good for business computing, it’s got lots of business tools like OpenOffice.org. It aslo has an entertainment package. I tried playing my music with some of the GNU audio programs, and it works fine for my ears. I haven’t tried the video players yet. This is also the ideal system for system developers but I’m not much interested in system development, those are for the hardcores computer geeks. The system isn’t built for gamers though, that’s the only drawback. The best thing about Linux is that it’s FREE. Hehehe. Call me a cheapskate but it’s a better alternative operating system for PC clones. I’m not complaining anymore about Linux, I have seen the light. Hehe.
